The Passier Tradition Passier was founded in 1867 by Georg Christian Passier in the Royal Seat of Hanover and as the regimental saddler of the Royal Ulan Regiment Number 13. He soon enjoyed a good reputation and his exceptional skills gained him a faithful clientele not only in Hanover, which included famous Royal Houses, His Majesty the Emperor and King to whom he was appointed Court Saddler and supplier. G. Passier and Sohn is still a Passier family business. Right from the beginning, only the best materials were used for production. The Passier Saddle Tree The PS saddle tree was developed and patented by Passier 25 years ago and is still made in our own factory. More than 1200 manual steps are necessary in its construction. The main materials are wood and leather. In order to attain a high flexibility bamboo canes are then worked into the tree skin. The material used in the synthetic saddle tree is an Elastomer, which was tested under space-age conditions and is used in many industrial products. With normal treatment this saddle cannot break. Passier gives a lifetime guarantee on the synthetic saddle tree. On both, the Ps and the synthetic saddle tree, the forged gullet plate is made using a high quality alloyed steel.
